Dr. Michal Mazur received his master degree in Chemistry from Jagiellonian University in Cracov, Poland. Then he joined the Department of Synthesis and Catalysis in J. Heyrovsky Institute of Physical Chemistry in Prague, Czech Republic, where he completed his PhD in 2016 under the supervision of Prof. Jiří Čejka. He held a postdoctoral position at the University of St Andrews in Prof. Russell Morris’s group until April 2018. He then returned to Prague, where he is in charge of the new TEM facility. He holds the assistant professor position at Faculty of Science, Charles University.
His research is focused on the synthesis, post-synthesis modification, and application of various materials, especially two-dimensional zeolites. He is also interested in characterization methods, mainly X-ray diffraction and TEM imaging of materials. Michal Mazur has authored over 20 publications with over 250 citations and an H-index of 9.
Highlights of research:
- Synthesis of zeolites by desing.
- Transmission Electron Microscopy of nanoporous materials.
