Zeolite Summer School 2026
Zeolite Summer School!
The research group of Prof. Čejka organised two weeks Summer School for high school students interested in zeolites. Students from the Roudnice nad Labem Gymnasium got to try zeolite synthesis. They explored their function in laundry detergents - how zeolites replace phosphates, soften water, and boost washing efficiency. They also worked on the oxidation of methyl phenyl sulfide on titanium-containing zeolitesand prepared gold nanoparticles, applying them to polymers, later studying them under the microscope.
Zeolites aren't just "pretty crystals." They are smart materials that bind ions in hard water, improve detergent performance, and help protect the environment.
Thank you, and we are already looking forward to the next edition!
